Meet Lisa Lazan
Lisa Lazan is originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She attended college in Milwaukee, receiving her undergraduate degree from Marquette University. She went on to law school at Washington University in St. Louis, and received her J.D. degree in 1985. After graduation, Lisa moved to New York City where she practiced in the areas of insurance defense and coverage litigation. In late 1990 Lisa and her husband, tired of shoveling snow and scraping ice off the car windows, moved to sunny Vero Beach, where they have lived ever since. Lisa practiced in the area of Worker’s Compensation defense until 2010, when she “retired.” For six years Lisa worked steadily as a substitute teacher in Indian River County, and continued to represent family law clients. In 2017, Lisa returned to the practice of law full time, representing clients in divorce, child custody, modification of timesharing and child support, alimony, and relocation cases. Lisa is admitted to both the Florida and New York bars, and is a member in good standing.
Children and Families Come First
In the area of family law, one of the saddest situations faced by couples in Vero Beach is that of a divorce, which is only made more stressful when the welfare of any children is involved. At Lisa Lazan Law, we understand the hardships that accompany families and hearts being broken, and this is why we focus on remembering that in family law, it’s always the best interests of children and families that come first in every case. There is nothing more important to the staff at Lisa Lazan Law than the best outcome for every one of our family law clients in Vero Beach, and our many years of legal expertise ensure that any final agreements have truly taken the interests of all affected parties to heart.
Child support, co-parenting/timesharing arrangements and alimony are often listed as the top three family law concerns for many of our clients seeking a divorce. Among these items, financial issues and payments are often straightforward and decided upon by the court based on income and assets of the couple. However, when it comes to co-parenting agreements that include timesharing and changes in the residence of children, family law often must look beyond established rules, and take into account the needs of the children. It’s this same kind of care that makes Lisa Lazan Law in Vero Beach the family law attorney that so many families have come to trust for help in healing their family.
